Missing in Chicago | Website

Missing in Chicago is an investigative report by journalism nonprofits, City Bureau and Invisible Institute. It examines the disproportionate impact of the Chicago Police on missing persons cases of Black women and girls. 

The website is the main hub for the 7-part editorial project that provides readers with video testimony and images of the loved ones of the missing. A detailed Resources page shares links and support numbers for those in need of support. The website features a dark mode toggle that enhances the reading experience for users who prefer reading text on a dark background. It was built on WordPress using Elementor Pro builder and includes plugins with custom HTML/CSS code for the dark mode switch.
