The Youth Food Justice Network is a an organization in New York City that seeks to promote collaboration among youth organizers within the equitable food movement.
The main goal of this project was to update the young woman in the logo and find a way to effectively incorporate the name of the organization in the logo as well.
Source material provided by the client – the original logo and the most recent version (sketched by another artist).
Using the flat images provided by the client, I vectorized and separated the logo. Then added the new illustration of a young woman that I sketched in a similar style to the original logo.
Next was solidifying the placement of the organization’s name within the logo. I presented a few options and the client went with the arced version placed above the illustration.
To achieve a more vibrant feel, I experimented with a few energetic and produce related color palettes.
